Sorted at Last (nearly)
Well that was a fun 2 days..๐.
I have been having bad pain in my left side for the last several week but the pain did not bother me to much because I was smoking cannabis and that had sort of numbed the pain but i knew from experience that the pain was quit bad.
I had seen GPs and nurses during this time but they could not find any thing wrong the pee or blood tests so I was still stuck with the pain...
Just over a week ago I stopped smoking weed and was trying to stop tobacco as well and was doing pretty good, the pain in my side got a little worse each day.
Was woke up on Monday morning about 6am in a lot of pain, this was past a 10, so after going throught the online 111 it told me to call 999.
The ambulance team were great and we were soon off to A&E, we were all hoping it was not to busy and we were in luck as there were only 3 others waiting but I was in the hospital within 10 mins.
I don't remember how long it took to be seen but some time in the evening I was on the ward and settled in for a night of no sleep...
At some time a new patient arrived and was put opposite me, he was a very very large gentleman and snored and made strange noises all night so with that and the nurses coming around every 2 hrs to take your stats I knew there was little chance of any sleep, was glad I had my airpods and phone so after some morphine I put on my music and relaxed.
I thought the morning would be sort of quiet and i could have some naps, how wrong was I
The big guy was awake.... and all he wanted to do was talk, it was then I though "I wish I could be mean and tell him to shut up" but thats not me and we did have a few good chats but most the time it was hard not to tell him to shut up..๐ he thought he knew better than the Drs and would keep trying to them that he knows whats wrong himself..
Went for a CAT scan early in the morning and that's when they found a 7mm kidney stone.
When the surgeon and his team came to let me know he then gave me loads of options as to what could be done, this was all made harder because of the strokes I have had and the blood thinner med i am on, now I am pretty high at the time on morphine all I really hear is opp and chances of having a stroke, so I smiled at him and said " whats your advice" have the opp in 6 weeks the main reason is i need to stop the blood thinners 10 days before the opp, so I said " sounds like a plan, lets go for it"
The only problem he had was me managing my pain but i told him about my cannabis use and how it had helped so much with the pain and the only reason I was hurting so much now is that i stopped the weed just over a week ago, he said you are the 3rd person to tell me that, he could not tell me to use it but understood i will be able to manage my pain until the opp so I am back on the weed..๐all i need to look out for is if i get a temperature then i will need to go back straight away.
I had a MRI booked to 12 noon on the Tuesday to do with my prostrate so I made sure they knew and I would not miss it. 11.30 i get told its been moved to 1.10 and that made a little pissed off , I knew I could go home after the scan and i had not eaten for the last 48hrs and could not eat until after the scan.so I thew a little hissse fit and went off in my chair to have a smoke๐I soon calmed down and went back up to big man and his talking.
Had the scan then was soon home and a big thank you to Cheryl for benign there for me and doing my washing and changing the bed (I am so looking forward to my bed)
So now its a waiting game 6/7 weeks for the kidney stone and for the prostrate its still going to be a few week, I should hear next week about the scan and if it looks like cancer then the next step will be a biopsy.
Most the things I have to face in the next few weeks are not going to be pleasant and there will be some challenging times but me and Steward are up to any challenge and will not let any thing stop us from our road trip to the USA next year
